Madonna shares cryptic messages with tattoo she got to honor her mother

Madonna has fresh ink to honor her late mother.

The “Like a Virgin” hitmaker showed off her new wrist tattoo on Instagram on Thursday, revealing the ink job she got to remember their special bond.

The three photos shared on the 64-year-old singer’s Instagram story show an “X” above the word “Maman”, which is French for mother. The tattoo also features a broken heart.

The first image shows a glowing Madonna holding her wrist above her head with the caption: ‘Broken hearts club’.

In the second snap, the seven-time Grammy winner’s wrist tattoo was seemingly smeared in blood as she wrote, “We all bleed the same color.”

“All mothers get heartbroken,” she added.

Madonna has been divorced twice. Her first marriage was to Sean Penn from 1985 to 1989. Her last marriage was to Guy Richie, which lasted from 2000 to 2008.

Madonna was five years old when her mother died of breast cancer on December 1, 1963 at the age of 30.

Madonna candidly admitted in a recent YouTube video that she regrets both of her marriages, but has found solace with a sexual obsession.
