Jennifer Coolidge dances to playoff music in Emmy’s 2022 speech

Jennifer Coolidge is cool under pressure — even as playoff music threatened to cut her Emmys speech for 2022 Monday.

The “White Lotus” star went viral for dancing to the song that interrupted her when she took home the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

“Wait, wait a minute,” Coolidge, 61, repeated several times before putting down her notes and breaking a move.

The actress continued to dance in her sparkly green-and-gold dress as the audience applauded and cheered.

Viewers celebrated Coolidge’s response via Twitter, calling the “Legally Blonde” star a “national treasure” who “should rule the world.”

One Twitter user wrote: “If you think you can’t love @JENCOOLIDGE more than you do, she’s going to.”

Another added that Coolidge’s dance deserved “another Emmy”, while “Sister, Sister” alumnus Jackée Harry tweeted: “Straight to jail with whoever played @JENCOOLIDGE offstage! But thanks too for letting us do that adorable dance have got.”

Earlier in her speech, Coolidge explained why she had a “difficult” speaking on stage.

“I took a lavender bath just before the show tonight, which made me swell up in my dress,” she said. “But either way, this is so exciting.”

In July, news broke that Coolidge had been nominated for her first Emmy, and the following month she told Variety about the honor.

“My friends are all surprised that this crazy thing happened,” the comedian told the magazine in August. “My life went in a certain direction for a long time. I’m afraid if I analyze it too much, I’ll ruin it.”

She thought about playing Tanya in HBO Max’s “The White Lotus” and explained that the role wasn’t one she’d already played “a million times.”

Coolidge added: “We all want a challenge – something really scary that we may not succeed in. I think we all want to have that opportunity.”

The alum from “2 Broke Girls” returns for season 2 of “The White Lotus,” which premieres in October.
