Florence Pugh skipped yet another event to promote ‘Don’t Worry Darling’, this time in New York City.
Pugh and co-star Chris Pine pre-recorded a message for fans saying they couldn’t attend Monday’s screening because she’s filming “Dune: Part Two” in Europe and it’s in production in Los Angeles.
“Even though I work halfway around the world”, the star of “Little Women” started in their joint messagewith Chris adding, “and I’m in production all the way in Los Angeles myself.”
Pugh continued, “We didn’t want to miss this opportunity to thank you for coming to experience ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ in IMAX.”
Pine concluded the video message by telling the audience that they would have a “thrilling ride” and that he hoped they would enjoy the film.
While Pine, 42, and Pugh, 26, sat outside the event in the Big Apple amid rumors of a feud with director Olivia Wilde, the former “House” star and Harry Styles walked the carpet with co-stars Gemma Chan and Sydney Chandler.
The ‘Wonder Woman’ actor and ‘Midsommar’ star last appeared together at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month for the world premiere of the psychological thriller. While Pine attended both the pre-premiere press conference and the red carpet, Pugh missed the conference and chose to appear on the carpet alone.
Wilde, 38, has downplayed any rumors of a feud between her and Pugh, and the film’s cinematographer also claimed the set was “harmonious.”
“Whatever happened, it happened long after I left… I never witnessed anything. And I didn’t to feel something. You know, you get the feeling that maybe something is going on and I didn’t feel anything,” Matthew Libatique recently explained.
However, after a video leaked in which Wilde refers to Pugh as “Miss Flo”, Pugh’s glamor team appeared to take sides by wearing T-shirts with the nickname printed on them.
