An aide to the royal family is said to have predicted that Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle “will all end in tears,” says an explosive new book.
Lady Susan Hussey, who has been a lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth II since the 1960s, is said to have made the comments over lunch with theater managers months before the couple’s wedding in May 2018, according to a report.
The longtime assistant’s comments were revealed in investigative reporter Tom Bower’s “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors,” released earlier this month.
“While the possibility that Meghan could be associated with the National Theater after the wedding was discussed, Hussey got unexpectedly serious about the couple’s future,” Bower wrote. “That will all end in tears,” she is said to have said. ‘Mark my words.'”
Lady Susan, 83, was part of the palace’s team of courtiers who were asked to help Markle adjust to life within the royal family, according to Bower.
