Jack Wagner speaks out after son Harrison’s death

Jack Wagner is grateful for the outpouring of support following the tragic death of his son, Harrison Wagner, last month.

“Thank you so much for the love and kindness you sent. I can’t tell you how much it means to me,” the General Hospital alum said Friday in a video of him about to board a flight to Vancouver.

Wagner, 62, added that he was getting ready to film season 10 of the Hallmark series “When Calls The Heart” and promised to share some behind-the-scenes footage.

“Hopefully it will make you laugh and we can enjoy it together,” he added, “and again thank you so much for the love and support you have sent me,… huge… I am sending it right back to you, so we’ll keep in touch.”

Last month, Wagner’s 27-year-old son Harrison, who he shared with ex-wife Kristina, was found dead in a North Hollywood parking lot.

“We are heartbroken that he ultimately lost his battle with addiction,” the statement said on the website, “and we hope that the memory of Harrison will live on through this scholarship and help other young men get help for their addictions who are otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford it.

“Harrison was a cheerful, exuberant young man whose smile lit up every room he found himself in. He left behind many men and relatives who loved him dearly.”

Harrison had struggled with addiction and, according to his father, had been missing for nearly a week after a relapse in July 2016.

“I am going to ask those who want to share their fears, addictions and struggles to do so via Twitter. We can face them together, I’ll start,” says the actor tweeted in 2016.

“I fear for the safety of my youngest sons,” he wrote in another tweet. “Harrison struggled with drugs and alcohol, just like when I was younger. He has relapsed and is MIA 5 days.”
