Meghan King has one thing left from her volatile marriage to Cuffe Owens: a special wedding gift from his uncle, President Joe Biden.
“He gave me a crystal bowl with the presidential seal,” the former 38-year-old “Real Housewives of Orange County” told Us Weekly, adding that she still has the unique gift.
She continued: “And Kamala Harris wrote me a note.”
King went on to describe how “weird” it was to have Secret Service and snipers at her low-key marriage.
“The craziest moment for me was when my daughter said, ‘Mommy, what are those boys doing?’ And there were two snipers with such huge guns, as if they were walking because the president was getting ready to leave,” she explained.
“So they pack up and go, so they’ve got these huge guns. And I said, ‘Oh honey, those people were there to protect the president, because the president was here.’ And she said, “President Biden.” And I said, ‘Yes.’ She says, ‘No, he wasn’t!’”
Though her daughter Aspen, 5, couldn’t remember speaking to the groom’s uncle that night, King said the Bidens “felt like family.”
“The wedding day was wonderful. It was so nice, intimate and his family is amazing. I mean, I have nothing bad to say about the Bidens at all. They were so warm and normal and welcoming.”
King and Owens, 43, tied the knot in October 2021 at a “small wedding” at the attorney’s childhood home in Kennett Square, Penn., after dating for just a month.
However, the mother of three soon realized she had made a “mistake” and the couple annulled their marriage two months later.
In July, the former reality star revealed she was “rushed into” marriage, although she “wanted to “never get married again”.
“Like I said before, I’m a lover and I want everyone to be happy. I’ve learned some big lessons from that mistake. I’m sure he did,” she said on Caroline Stanbury’s “Divorced Not Dead” podcast, adding that it was “short and sweet and it’s done and it’s canceled.”
King has also had some choice words about her marriage to former MLB player Jim Edmonds since they finalized their divorce in early 2021.
The “RHOC” alum called her marriage to the athlete “shameful” after she started watching the Bravo series again and realized how little the 52-year-old “respected” her.
The couple – who were married for seven years – share daughter Aspen and twin sons Hart and Hayes, 4.
Co-parenting wasn’t easy for the former couple, though, as King filed two protective orders against Edmonds in June for “frequent and consistent verbal abuse” against her via text message and in the Family Wizard co-parenting app.
The cases have since been dropped and King hopes to set the “best example” for their children by trying to resolve the cases amicably.
