Katie Couric encourages Jenny Mollen to get a mammogram

Jenny Mollen needed Katie Couric to remind her to get her annual mammogram.

The actress documented her experience with the doctor on Friday after Couric, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, reminded her to get checked.

“I’m here to get my annual mammogram because Katie Couric texted me and said it was time,” Mollen, 43, said in an Instagram story.

“I’m a month late, I’m usually early, I’m usually all over this s–t. But this is the scariest day of the year for me, I’m always scared.”

The mother of two revealed that her husband, Jason Biggs, was there to calm her nerves after feeling like she was going to have a “panic attack” while waiting for her appointment.

Fortunately, the visit went well and Mollen shared a photo of her negative results in another Instagram Story.

The author of “Live Fast Die Hot” followed up her story with a photo of her bare breasts being screened, which she jokingly captioned “#OOTD” (Outfit of the Day).

Mollen was praised in the comments section of the photos for showing how easy it is to get the annual checkup.

“Good job!!!! Squishing our ta-tas is SO IMPORTANT!!!!! ,” said broadcast journalist Kit Hoover.

Couric also chimed in on the post, writing, “Love you @jennymollen SO proud of you getting checked! Xoxo #iscreenyouscreen.”

The 65-year-old journalist revealed in an essay published Wednesday that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in June, after waiting six months to get her annual mammogram.

“I felt nauseous and the room started spinning,” she recalls hearing the news before urging other women to get their mammograms.

“I can’t tell you how many times during this experience I thanked God that it was 2022. And how many times I have silently thanked all the dedicated scientists who have done their best to develop better ways to analyze and treat breast cancer,” the former host of “Today” continued.

“But to reap the benefits of modern medicine, we need to stay on top of our screenings, advocate for ourselves, and make sure everyone has access to the diagnostic tools that could very well save their lives.”

Although Mollen is breast cancer free, she revealed that the doctors found a few cysts in her breast – which they assured were common.
