Jim Edmonds believes ex-wife Meghan King is taking advantage of their 4-year-old son Hart’s potty problems.
The former professional baseball player’s representative told TMZ on Thursday that the “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum appeared to be seeking attention when she asked her Instagram followers for parenting advice.
“Jim wishes Meghan would respect their children’s privacy and stop putting their son and his challenges in the spotlight,” the rep said.

Edmonds’ response, 52, came two days after King, 37, shared that Hart hit “detours and roadblocks” when he went to the bathroom.
“Heart is afraid of the toilet (I think) and I’ve tried every motivator on the planet,” the former Bravo personality wrote on an Instagram video on Tuesday. “The clock is ticking because school requires him to be potty trained and it starts in a month!
“Any wise words from others who have children with sensory problems, etc. are greatly appreciated (and NEEDED at this time)!” she continued.
King noted in the footage that she spent a year trying to potty train Hart.
She linked the little one’s problems with “sensory problems” arising from the diagnosis of his cerebral palsy.
“As with many neurodivergent children, occupational tasks can be difficult (such as eating, putting on clothes, tying shoes, driving, waiting in line, etc.),” she wrote.
However, Edmonds told TMZ on Thursday that the former reality star misdiagnosed their son, claiming Hart suffers from periventricular leukomalacia, a type of brain damage characterized by softening of the white matter.
King initially shared Hart’s PVL diagnosis in July 2019.
The following year, she gave her followers an update, saying that he had been diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
“I knew it was CP since Hart was a few months old. I just knew,” she wrote in an October 2020 blog post. “Heart brain is not paralyzed, but there is some damage. CP simply manifests as a motor disorder. That is it. Yes.”
Edmonds – who also shares daughter Aspen (5) and Hart’s twin brother Hayes with King – claimed to be “unaware” of Hart’s CP at the time.
“If it’s even true, it’s completely unscrupulous and absolutely shameful that Meghan would announce this on social media without discussing it with him first,” the representative of the MLB alumni told Us Weekly.
King clapped back and told the magazine, “Jim’s statements are not true and I refuse to comment further.”
