It seems Jennifer Flavin had an “escape plan” weeks before she filed for divorce.
The former model was photographed leaving LA hotspot Craig’s without her wedding ring 11 days before filing for divorce from Sylvester Stallone in Palm Beach County, Florida on Aug. 19.
Curiously, as Flavin was leaving the restaurant, the “Rocky” star had posted an ode to his canine friend Dwight, which was rumored to be the trigger for the divorce; However, Stallone vehemently denied that a dog would cause the ruin of a marriage.
“We didn’t end the relationship on such a trivial argument,” Stallone, 76, told TMZ, though he did admit the couple disagreed on “how to care for the dog,” as they often travel and live in two houses.
In her divorce petition, Flavin, 54, claimed that her now-estranged husband “has engaged in the willful waste, depletion and/or waste of marital assets” — and demanded that Stallone be prohibited from selling or transferring assets during a divorce proceedings.
But a source familiar with the case told Vidak For Congress the claim was “ridiculous”.
“It’s so ridiculous, I have no idea why Jennifer’s lawyers put this in the divorce petition, it’s just a pure lie,” the insider said. “Sly hasn’t sold as much as a T-shirt!”
While we were told that the “Daylight” star was “overwhelmed” by the divorce filing, the action star explained the split by describing that their lives were going in “different directions”.
“I have the utmost respect for Jennifer,” he said in a statement. “I will always love her. She is an amazing woman. She is the nicest person I have ever met.”
The former couple first began dating in 1988, when Flavin was a 19-year-old model and Stallone was 42 and divorced twice. After an on-again, off-again relationship, the couple married in 1997 and shared three daughters: Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet.
