Many will remember Ivana Trump (maiden name: Zelnickova) as the late first wife of former President Donald Trump, but that was only one of her four husbands.
The Czech-American businesswoman — who died of cardiac arrest on July 14, 2022 at age 73 — was married once before saying “I do” to Donald.
After four failed marriages, Ivana told Vidak For Congress in 2017 that she was not looking for another husband and was not dating because that part of her life was “over” and instead chose to spend time with her grandchildren.
Alfred Winklmayr, 1971-1973
Ivana married her first husband, Alfred Winklmayr, in Prague in November 1971, when she was 22 years old.
The model and the Austrian ski instructor were married for two years.
According to The Washington Post, in 1990, Ivana’s lawyer described the union as a “Cold War marriage” that “never took place.”
She apparently only wanted ‘her freedom’ from the then communist regime of Czechoslovakia.
The outlet reports that Ivana received her Austrian passport in March 1972 and immigrated to Canada in September 1972, where – after a mandatory waiting period – she had her marriage “dissolved” in August 1973.
Donald Trump, 1977-1992
Ivana met Donald in New York in 1976 at Maxwell’s Plum restaurant, while living in Montreal as a 26-year-old model.
She told LiveSigning that the real estate mogul helped her and her friends get a table at the “crowded” establishment and then paid for their dinner.
“I’ve never met a man” [who would] pay for something and he didn’t want anything in return,” she told the outlet. “I do not know.”
The two married in a socialite-studded wedding in April 1977 and welcomed their son, Donald Trump Jr., in December. Their daughter, Ivanka Trump, was born in October 1981 and youngest son, Eric Trump, in January 1984.
Ivana was naturalized as a US citizen in 1988.
During the couple’s 15-year marriage, Ivana held key leadership roles in The Trump Organization.
However, the two divorced in March 1992 amid news of the businessman’s affair with Marla Maples.
After their breakup, Ivana told The Post that she asked for “total custody” of the children.
“That was non-negotiable,” she recalled, noting that “even if Donald and I had stayed together, I would have raised the kids.”
The two were later able to reconcile and were on friendly terms before her death.
“She was an amazing, beautiful and amazing woman, who lived an amazingly inspiring life,” Donald said in a statement when she died. “Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric.”
Riccardo Mazzucchelli, 1995-1997
Ivana married Italian entrepreneur and international businessman Riccardo Mazzucchelli in November 1995.
According to People, he initially unsuccessfully proposed a 10-carat diamond. Years later, he offered her a huge Burmese sapphire, and she accepted. They were married for two years.
The couple divorced in 1997, after which Mazzucchelli told the outlet: “I loved Ivana very much and I think I did my very best. I did more for her than Donald ever did.”
That same year, Ivana sued Mazzucchelli for $15 million after allegedly violating the confidentiality clause of their prenuptial agreement.
Mazzucchelli then filed a libel suit against Ivana and Donald in the UK.
They were able to settle their disputes out of court.
According to RadarOnline, Mazzucchelli passed away in September 2017.
Rossano Rubicondi, 2008-2009
Ivana married much younger Italian actor Rossano Rubicondi in April 2008 at Mar-A-Lago – the luxury club and resort in Palm Beach, Florida, owned by Donald.
Though their marriage was concluded before their one-year anniversary, they remained an on-again, off-again couple for most of the decade that followed.
The two even appeared together on the Italian version of “Dancing with the Stars” in 2018.
“The relationship just ended,” Ivana explained to Vidak For Congress the following year. “Rossano spends a lot of time in Italy, and I spend a lot of time in New York, Miami and St-Tropez… The long-distance relationship really doesn’t work. We had a good time and are friends. The split was amicable.”
Rubicondi died in November 2021 at the age of 49.
