Martha Stewart Wants Friends To Die So She Can Date Husbands

Martha Stewart has a macabre sense of humor.

The currently single lifestyle maven, 80, joked on Chelsea Handler’s podcast on Thursday that she wishes her friends died so she can date their husbands.

Stewart insisted that “Dear Chelsea” that she “has never been a house breaker” — and that she “had to try very hard not to be one” — before adding: “I’ve had the chance to be a to be a house wrecker, and I have spoken to no one about it.”

The housekeeper explained that most of the men she meets are married to her friends, prompting Handler, 47, to feel sorry for the fact that sometimes it’s “very tempting” to have an affair “because you want to believe that.” ‘Oh, maybe this relationship they’re in is temporary.’”

Stewart then joked, “Or maybe they’re going to die. I always think, ‘Oh god, can’t that person just die?’ Not painful, just dying.”

The “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party” star admitted that while there’s “nothing” going on in the dating department right now, she does have a crush on married men.

“I had two crazy crushes in the last month, which is really good for me, but one of them turns out to be married to the mother of some friends of mine,” she said. “He’s so attractive.”

Perhaps the ex-con has strict rules about her relationships because of her past.

Stewart was married to publisher Andrew Stewart from 1961 to 1990. They share a daughter, Alexis, 56.

After he broke up in 1987, Andrew was reportedly given a court order forbidding Martha from talking to him. He married his ex-wife’s former assistant, Robyn Fairclough, in 1993.

Last December, the cookbook author was off the market and told Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” that she was dating someone but refused to reveal his identity.

Stewart’s boyfriends have included actor Anthony Hopkins.

Stewart’s dating history includes a spell with Anthony Hopkins. It ended after she saw his Oscar-winning performance in the 1991 thriller “The Silence of the Lambs” and couldn’t separate the actor, now 84, from his creepy Hannibal Lecter character.

“I have a big, scary house in Maine that’s all alone on 100 acres in the woods, and I couldn’t even imagine taking Anthony Hopkins there,” she told Ellen DeGeneres.

“I couldn’t – all I could think about was that he was eating, you know…” she added, referring to Lecter’s cannibalism.
