Ivana Trump was planning a trip to St. Tropez before her death

Ivana Trump was looking forward to going to St. Tropez before her untimely death on Thursday, according to her best friend Nikki Haskell.

“She was leaving for St. Tropez tomorrow. This would be her first trip since the pandemic. She was afraid of getting the virus,” a distraught Haskell told Vidak For Congress on Thursday.

“She was my best friend. I met her the night she met Donald [Trump]… I can’t even tell you how amazing she was, just an amazing friend and the most amazing, inspiring person,” Haskell said.

Haskell told us that during the pandemic, Trump was “completely locked up” and “not going to do anything” because she was so afraid of getting COVID-19.

“She just walked from her house to a restaurant next door, maybe one or two around the corner. That’s it,’ she said.

But Trump was finally ready to get out of her COVID shell and even planned a trip around the world with Haskell.

“We were considering doing a world tour in January – taking two months off and going on a world tour. I just can’t believe it,” Haskell said.

Haskell told us she last saw Trump about three weeks ago when they ate at Primola on the Upper East Side. Trump was often seen with Haskell at galas around the city, including Denise Rich’s annual Gabriel’s Angel Ball for cancer research. She had planned to attend Clive Davis’ 90th birthday party in April, but has canceled, Haskell said.

The death of Trump’s ex-husband Rossano Rubicondi last October left her “extremely devastated,” Haskell said.

Her trip to St. Tropez would be her official return to the world.

“She was really looking forward to going to Europe… We had so much fun with Ivana on the boat. She was my best friend,’ said a choked Haskell.
