Drew Barrymore cried during an emotional reunion with her ex-boyfriend Justin Long, gushing that she “will always love him”.
The talk show host, 47, wiped away tears after hugging the 44-year-old actor on Monday’s episode of her “Drew Barrymore Show.”
Barrymore, who dated her “Going the Distance” co-star from 2007 to 2010, told Long she is “truly grateful” to have had him in her life.
“I will always love you so much,” she said. “You were so important to me. … I feel like we’ve been through so much together.
“When we talked and FaceTimed, I was always like, ‘You know, I’ve really grown up, Justin,'” she continued. “I’ve always wanted to prove to you what a different person I was than when we went out.”
Long responded to the sentiment, calling the actress “the best.”
He gushed: “I love that we kept our love because for my part I know it will never go away. I love you always. I’m glad we can still have that. I mean it. I always will to love you.”
The former couple went on to reflect on the “chaos” of their “hedonic” relationship.
“We’d get together, we’d break up,” recalls Barrymore. It was great fun.”
The “Santa Clarita Diet” alum previously praised Long when he began dating Kate Bosworth, telling her talk show audience how the “Crossroads” star “gets all the ladies.”
Barrymore explained in July, “He’s one of the sharpest, wittiest… [people]. He’s brilliant, and he’ll just blow your socks off with laughter.”
Long, who has been in a relationship with Bosworth, 39, since 2021, was previously linked to Amanda Seyfried.
As for Barrymore, the Golden Globe winner was married to Will Kopelman and the exes, co-parent daughters Olive (9) and Frankie (8) from 2012 to 2016.
In January, Barrymore asked ‘Queer Eye’ star Bobby Berk for advice on single mom dating, noting that Kopelman, 44, has moved on with wife Alexandra Michler.
“I’ve been on a few personal dates that I would have given my all if they were on Zoom,” she said on an episode of her show. “I don’t talk about my children” [on these dates] because I think we should probably get to know each other first.”
Barrymore added that she never plans to tie the knot again, clarifying that one day she might “live with someone again”.
