Wedding cake might have been a sweeter treat.
Casey Affleck and his girlfriend, Caylee Cowan, were busy this weekend doing everything but attending his brother Ben and Jennifer Lopez’s wedding in Georgia.
The “Manchester by the Sea” star and Cowan were spotted on Saturday grabbing ice cream at Van Leeuwen’s in Los Feliz, while the “Argo” actor and “Waiting for Tonight” singer tied the knot, according to photos obtained by TMZ.
Earlier in the day, 47-year-old Casey also went on a Starbucks run telling paparazzi he had “other things” to do than travel south. As it turned out, those “things” grabbed a few pins and took his son Atticus to soccer practice.
In a since-deleted comment under Casey’s Instagram tribute to Bennifer 2.0, Cowan gave away the Boston native’s true plans.
“Hey, if you weren’t in town on Saturday to take Atty to soccer practice, who would have helped the kid who broke his arm?” she wrote.
“You are a good man. I love you.”
On Monday, Casey hinted that his son Indiana was getting ready to go to college.
“You’re ready for this,” Casey wrote in an emotional caption alongside a photo of the couple playing in the water when Indiana was a toddler. “You are uniquely wonderful, full of integrity, courage and kindness. You will be an improvement in the land of the ‘adults’.
“And if you go into the world with curious amazement and heartfelt gratitude, the world will (eventually) meet you with the same,” he continued.
