“Basketball Wives” star Brooke Bailey has announced her daughter Kayla tragically passed away on Sunday. She was 25.
“Forever my baby, Pretty Black aka Kayla Nicole Bailey This is not a goodbye. Mommy will see you soon 🙏🏾,” Brooke captioned a series of photos of her daughter she’d taken throughout her life.
Brooke also changed her Instagram bio with a tribute to her late daughter: “FOREVER 💜🕊Kayla Nicole Bailey 3/2/97-9/25/22 #PrettyBlack.”
Kayla’s cause of death is unknown, but there are reports that she died from injuries sustained in a car accident. Brooke appeared to confirm the cause of death by reposting an article about Kayla’s accident; however, the official cause of death and manner of death has not been released.
Brooke’s friends, family and followers flooded her with their condolences as soon as she shared the news.
“Omg my heart just broke for you,” said actress Tabitha Brown. “I’m so sorry baby❤️🙏🏾.”
“I’m so sorry Brooke,” Zena Foster said.
“Omg beautiful, I’m so sorry! My prayers are with you, I lift your name high in prayer tonight 🙏🏽 😔,” wrote “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” alum Tammy Rivera as a commentary.
The reality star, 45, thanked everyone for their outpouring of support, writing on her Instagram story: “Thank you for loving my baby girl. Thank you. [broken-heart emoji].”
