Zendaya injures herself in cooking accident

Zendaya may be on her way to winning more Emmys, but she probably won’t achieve the “Top Chef” title anytime soon.

The “Euphoria” star had to get stitches after she injured herself while cooking on Wednesday and documented the experience on her Instagram story.

“Look…this is why I don’t cook,” she captioned a photo of her bandaged index finger, though her manicure remained intact.

Zendaya, 25, then shared a snapshot of a doctor stitching up her cut finger, writing, “Update.”

In a selfie uploaded later that day, the actress raised her sewn finger while casually dressed in a white tank top and wrote, “Baby’s first stabs lol never to cook again❤️.”

Zendaya tagged her assistant Darnell Appling, who accompanied her while she received medical care.

“Never a dull moment with @zendaya no pun intended 🤦🏾‍♂️ 😂,” Appling wrote on his Instagram story, joking about his boss cutting himself with a sharp knife, along with a selfie taken while he waited on the HBO outbreak.

He added: “Dear God help me keep this little heffa safe because she is clumsy as hell ️.”

It’s unclear what Zendaya was cooking at the time of the incident, and her representative did not immediately respond to Vidak For Congress’s request for comment.

The ‘Shake It Up’ alum may have made for a celebratory meal, as she was nominated for four 2022 Emmy Awards for ‘Euphoria’ on Tuesday. She also broke a record, becoming the youngest female producer to be nominated at the awards ceremony.

And this isn’t the first time Zendaya has broken records. She made history in 2020 by becoming the youngest winner of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at age 24 for her role as teenage drug addict Rue. She was also only the second black woman ever to win in the category.
