Twitter thinks Meghan Markle wore a microphone while mourning Queen

Just call her Meghan Mic-le.

Critics speculated that Meghan Markle had a secret microphone under her dress while greeting mourners at Windsor Castle on Saturday in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, but an insider tells Vidak For Congress exclusively the allegation is groundless.

“This is insane and actually harmful to her. Of course she wasn’t wearing a microphone,” a source close to Markle told Vidak For Congress on Tuesday.

The questions came after Twitter users spotted a mysterious square fold in the former ‘Suits’ actress’ dress as she walked alongside Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton to watch the tribute to the late Queen.

Several people posted theories as to why Markle, 41, might be wearing a microphone pack, and some suggested she might be collecting material for her Netflix documentaries.

Pointing to the shape, one user tweeted, “I can’t believe she’s recording this. She’s just a mean and toxic woman. I hope King Charles told Harry she’s not coming to the funeral.”

Another shared the same photo, adding: “Is Meghan Markle wearing a microphone to use the Queen’s death for her Netflix reality show?”

A third Twitter user called the possible hidden recording device the “last straw”.

‘I’m finally done! Meghan wearing a microphone was my last straw,” the paper wrote. “It is only after the mourning period that this couple will no longer be tweeted. I refuse to focus on anything but Queen Elizabeth.”

However, others pointed out that the speculation was inappropriate and likely untrue.

“There’s nothing scary about zooming in on a photo of women’s clothing like this, not at all,” one supporter tweeted in response to the criticism.

Another chimed in, “LEAVE HARRY AND MEGHAN ALONE!”

The outing of the estranged foursome marked the first time the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Prince and Princess of Wales have been seen together since Commonwealth Day in March 2020.

The walkabout sparked outrage as Harry, 37, was praised for his loving and tender interactions with his wife, while William, 40, is said to have been “cold” to his. Markle also caused a stir when she was filmed having an awkward encounter with royal assistants over bouquets of flowers in her arms.

Two days after the outing, the Duke of Sussex released an emotional statement on the loss of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, who died on Thursday at the age of 96.

“Grandma, although this last goodbye brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all our first encounters – from my earliest childhood memories with you, to the first time I met you as my commander in chief, to the first moment you have my dear woman and embrace your beloved great-grandchildren,” he said, paying tribute to Markle and their two children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, who was named after the monarch.

Harry added: “I cherish these moments I’ve shared with you, and the many other special moments in between. You are already sorely missed.”

Markle has yet to release a statement about the Queen’s passing, although she and Harry paid tribute by making their Archwell foundation’s website disappear shortly after her death.

Markle’s representative did not immediately respond to Vidak For Congress’s request for comment.
