According to a new report, Tom Girardi allegedly transferred hundreds of thousands of dollars to his alleged mistress so she could buy an oceanfront apartment.
The disgraced attorney transferred $300,000 to Tricia Bigelow the week she closed the Santa Monica, California property, according to financial records filed in a state lawsuit and reviewed by The Los Angeles Times.
The report noted that the transfer did not come from Girardi’s personal bank account, but rather from a trust account containing settlement money for clients of his law firm, Girardi Keese.
When Girardi, 83, transferred the money to Bigelow, the bill contained money owed to cancer victims and other residents of a polluted Inland Empire community, the publication stated.
Bigelow’s attorney Alan Jackson told The LA Times in an email that the $300,000 transfer “was NOT marked as coming from a [Girardi Keese] trust account” and that she had no reason to suspect that he was using customer money.
Jackson added that Girardi “never shared anything with her about the source of gifts” with Bigelow, who retired from the Second District Court of Appeal last year.
It seems the mass transfer also surprised Girardi’s estranged wife, Erika Jayne, as she was shocked at the revelation during a statement earlier this month.
“F-me,” she exclaimed, adding that there was “no way” he could tell her that piece of information.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star added in an Instagram statement on Wednesday, “Wow. I knew about jewelry, shopping and plastic surgery, but this really confused me.”
In December 2020, the “Pretty Mess” artist posted and deleted photos of screenshots of sexual text messages purportedly sent between Girardi and Bigelow.
“This is Judge Tricia A. Bigelow. She was fucking my husband Tom Girardi and he paid her Saks bill and paid for her plastic surgery,” she claimed.
