TikTok star Gabbie Hanna claims she was “detained” by police on Wednesday while they performed a health check on her.
“So just before the police came into my back door — all on camera and documented, of course — they came in and did a quick little search,” Hanna said in a TikTok video posted to her account Thursday night.
“I came down the stairs, [and] they wouldn’t tell me why I was being held. They handcuffed me and then they demanded that I drink water.”
Hanna, 31, claimed she told Los Angeles Police Department officers she “wanted none of it,” but they forced her to drink anyway while cuffing her hands behind her back.
“[After I took a sip], they said, ‘No, more water.’ So I spilled a little on my chest, and [one of the officers] put his hand on his f-king hip as if he was going to shoot me,” she claimed.
“Why don’t you, the Los Angeles Police Department, tell America what the definition of citizenship is? What is it?” she continued. “Do you think you did your civic duty when you broke into an illegal house, and then handcuffed me?”
An LAPD representative did not immediately respond to Vidak For Congress’s request for comment.
Police came to Hanna’s house after fans flooded the department with concerned phone calls after she posted 100 videos in one day. The influencer’s sister, Cecilia Hanna, also responded to the influx of concerns, urging fans as they believed it was their “thing” about what was going on with Gabbie, who has released her diagnosis of bipolar disorder.
“This video was filmed and posted all day before anything happened, or at least before we knew it. We are all in PA and she is in LA,” Cecilia wrote, according to a screenshot of the fan.
“We’re doing what we can do from here. at the end of the day, you are all strangers on the internet and it is none of your business, regardless of the level of concern.”
