Sylvester Stallone responded to estranged wife Jennifer Flavin’s divorce petition and denied any wrongdoing regarding their marital property.
The ‘Rocky’ star denied her allegations that he was “deliberately squandering, depleting and/or wasting marital property that has had an adverse economic impact on marital property,” the documents read by People, state.
Stallone’s legal team also confirmed that the movie star is “not involved” in that kind of behavior.
Stallone, 76, approved Flavin’s request to have “exclusive use” of their Palm Beach, Florida estate. Nor did he resist Flavin’s request to restore her maiden name; however, he did agree that their marriage had been “broken irretrievably.”
Lawyers for the former couple did not immediately return Vidak For Congress’s request for comment.
“I love my family. We are addressing these personal issues amicably and privately,” a Stallone representative previously told Vidak For Congress on his behalf.
Flavin, 54, filed for divorce from Stallone in Palm Beach County on Aug. 19 after 25 years of marriage, according to court documents obtained by Vidak For Congress.
Shortly after the bombshell news broke, a report claimed their union had disbanded over Stallone’s purchase of a new dog, though he later denied those rumors.
“We didn’t end the relationship on such a trivial argument,” the “Tulsa King” star told TMZ, though he did admit the couple disagreed on “how to care for the dog,” as they often travel and live in two houses.
While the exact reason for the split is unknown, sources later exclusively told Vidak For Congress that Stallone was “blinded” by Flavin’s divorce filing.
“You can’t think of a nicer couple . . . she visited him in Oklahoma City, where he’s filming. It sounded like everything was great. I have no idea what happened,” a source told Vidak For Congress.
