The man’s best friend became the woman’s worst nightmare.
Jennifer Flavin has filed for divorce after she and Sylvester Stallone had a huge fight over their new Rottweiler, sources told TMZ on Wednesday.
Stallone, 76, apparently wanted the dog, whose name is Dwight, for “protection for their family.” However, Flavin was not on board to add another dog to the family.
Instead of making compromises, they ‘fiercely stuck to their positions’.
The scathing canine argument reportedly sparked “an extremely heated discussion raising other issues” in their marriage, although it didn’t appear to be “terminating marriages” at the time.
Unfortunately for both Flavin, 54, and their marriage, the “Rocky” star won the argument and used the dog to promote his new show, “Tulsa King,” by naming him after his character’s name.
Stallone’s representative did not immediately respond to Vidak For Congress’s request for comment.
“So incredibly happy with my newly acquired four-legged friend ‘DWIGHT’ my characters [sic] name from the Series, keep hitting and barking!!!” Stallone wrote in an Instagram post announced earlier this month.
Stallone’s other dog, Butkus, the famous bullmastiff from the “Rocky” franchise, may also have been a factor in their marital troubles after he covered a large tattoo on his wife’s face with a photo of the puppy.
On Aug. 19, Flavin filed to annul their 25th wedding anniversary in Palm Beach County, Florida, Vidak For Congress confirmed Wednesday.
In court documents obtained by Vidak For Congress, the former model claimed their union has been “broken irretrievably”. Flavin also claimed that her husband “has engaged in intentionally squandering, depleting and/or wasting marital property”.
“I love my family. We are addressing these personal issues amicably and privately,” Stallone told us on Wednesday.
The ‘Creed’ actor married Flavin in May 1997 after meeting in a restaurant 10 years earlier. The former couple share three daughters: Sophia, 25, Sistine, 24, and Scarlet, 20.
Prior to Flavin, Stallone was married to Sasha Czack from 1974 to 1985 and Brigitte Nielsen from 1985 to 1987. He and Czack shared sons Sage, who died in July 2012, and Seargeoh, 43.
