Sharon Osbourne was delighted to see Prince Harry reunite with his brother, Prince William, after the death of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
“To see them walking side by side just brings it back [memories]. I look at Harry and think, ‘This is where you belong. People really want you to come home, this is where you belong, as our prince,’” Osbourne told Extra in an interview published Thursday.
Asked if she thinks the estranged brothers will be able to mend their relationship, the former “Talk” host said, “I hope so.”
The Duke of Sussex, the Prince of Wales and their respective wives, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, got together last weekend for a walk at Windsor Castle, where they viewed the tributes left for the late Queen.
The brothers, who have had a tumultuous relationship since Harry, 38, and Markle, 41, gave up their royal duties in 2020, also walked side by side as they followed the Queen’s coffin at a memorial service Wednesday.
Vidak For Congress reported that the brothers also dined together after receiving the Queen’s coffin at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday evening.
Osbourne has spoken out in the past about feeling ‘pity’ for the Sussexes.
“The Royal Family has always been a Shakespeare play to me. I have to tell you when I saw them [Harry and Meghan] rather… I felt sorry for them. And the way they were separated from the family,” she told Fox News in June after Markle and Harry were greeted with boos while attending the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
“I feel sorry for [Prince Harry] because i think there must be a big part of him that is sorry [his decision],” she continued.
The British TV personality added that it must be hard for Harry to struggle with the idea that his children will not grow up with their cousins, uncles and grandparents in the same way as William’s children.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex currently live in California with their two children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, while the Prince, 40, and Princess of Wales, 40, live with their three children – Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte , 7, and Prince Louis, 4 – across the pond.
Osbourne has been a harsh critic of the royal family in the past, even defending Piers Morgan when he was fired from “Good Morning Britain” for his constant criticism of Markle. in March 2021.
