Mom is out, tongue out.
Prince George stuck out his tongue at photographers on Monday after the funeral of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey in London.
The 9-year-old prince – who is second in the line of succession to the British throne behind his father, Prince William – was seen in the backseat of a car after service when he pulled the goofy face to pop shutterbugs.
He was accompanied by his mother, Kate Middleton, his 7-year-old sister, Princess Charlotte, and his step-grandmother, Queen Consort Camilla.
Other than this one moment of craziness, George and his sister were especially at their best at the late monarch’s funeral.
In attendance Mark Tewksburys said the eldest two children of Prince William and Kate Middleton were “incredibly well behaved”, adding: “For little Prince George this will be him one day and he doesn’t really know it yet. And then I thought, ‘Ah, he just lost his great-grandmother.’”
George and Charlotte walked in the procession for the Queen’s funeral before sitting down with their parents for the somber service. Their 4-year-old brother, Prince Louis, was not present, presumably because of his young age.
The little prince and princess appeared to be struggling with the loss of their grandmother, who died on September 8 at the age of 96. George was photographed being comforted by his great-aunt Sophie of Wessex and Charlotte was previously seen bursting into tears being comforted by Middleton.
Despite her strong emotions, Charlotte seemed to follow protocol and even helped her older brother stick to the rules. She was seen telling George when to bow at the funeral.
Like his uncle, Prince Harry, George has a history of making silly faces at important events. He stole the show with his facial expressions while attending Wimbledon with his parents.
Charlotte also hilariously corrected George’s attitude during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.
Meanwhile, Charlotte was also seen berating their little brother Louis after he made funny faces during the Jubilee pageant.
George seemed amused by Louis’s antics, perhaps knowing that he was passing on his habit of making funny faces to his younger brother.
