Preparation underway for Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez’s Saturday night wedding

Security was tight at the entrance to Hampton Island, Georgia Saturday, as workers arrived early to get ready for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck to walk down the aisle later in the day at his plantation-style estate.

Two guards sat at the entrance to the island, checking IDs for anyone entering Affleck’s 87-acre property.

After checking, they handed out white paper wristbands, while the police officer sat nearby in a car marked Liberty County Sheriff.

Workers were seen arriving with suits hanging from their passenger-side rear window, along with a few trucks arriving shortly after 11:30 am. Among them was a truck labeled Savannah Vintage, a lighting and furniture company.

The couple were engaged in April.

They were previously engaged in 2002, but separated in 2004. Affleck went on to marry actress Jennifer Garner, with whom he has three children, and Lopez eventually married singer Marc Anthony, with whom she had twins.

A neighbor told The Post that preparations for the three-day wedding celebration had been going on since July.

“They used to be out here a lot,” said neighbor Richard Dasher, 49, referring to the Hollywood couple. “They came in and out.”

“I know they’ve been working on it for four months,” he said of the wedding, adding that he’s “close friends” with an on-site concierge.

Dasher told The Post that a parade of unmarked trucks and vans made their way to the property over the past week.

“No problem,” said another neighbor, who did not want to be identified. “They’re just people like us. I love them and their profession. They’re good at what they do, but I’m not starstruck. I know they’ve been cleaning up a lot and rented a few side by side.”

The neighbor said her mother met Affleck about 15 years ago.

“She was over the moon. She said, “Hey, how are you?” He said, ‘good and with you?’”

Joey Norris, a resident of Riceboro, said he would like to meet Lopez.

“They’ve tried it once before, haven’t they? Fallen out of love. More luck this time.”
