Nick Kroll knows his part.
The ‘Big Mouth’ star joked about himself after fans showed little interest in him during the ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ premiere at the Venice Film Festival amid the cast’s off-screen drama.
Kroll, 44, filmed hordes of fans looking disappointed as he passed by in a car with co-star Sydney Chandler and posted their hilarious response to TikTok on Tuesday.
“POV: Going to the ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ premiere as a supporting actor,” Kroll captioned the video.
During the recording of the crowd, Kroll can be heard saying, “We’re not who you want, ladies. Sorry!”
Chandler, who also recognized the behavior, added with a laugh, “Not us!”
“Not Harry. Not Olivia. Not Florence,” Kroll added, referring to the alleged argument between the film’s director and the lead actors.
“Anyway, Nick and Syd. Pretty cool,” Chandler joked.
Kroll went along with the joke, saying, “I promise you, in very certain circles we’re kind of,” before walking away, closing his eyes with a group of raving fans and saying, “Hi, you don’t know me.”
“A silent disappointment,” Chandler said. Kroll and Chandler then continued to sarcastically say “hi” to the fans until they rolled over to the event.
While the film itself has gotten a lot of buzz, it’s the alleged drama between the cast and crew that really has the audience talking.
The crowds were most likely excited to catch a glimpse of Olivia Wilde, her boyfriend Harry Styles and the lead actress Florence Pugh.
Wilde and Pugh are apparently arguing after the “House” alum reportedly begged Shia LaBeouf to stay on the film. Pugh apparently expressed concern about the actor’s participation in the film, as he has been accused of abuse.
Wilde had previously claimed that the “Even Stevens” alum was fired from the project and replaced by her now-boyfriend, Styles, in order to keep other cast members “safe” from his “combative energy”.
But LaBeouf fired back at her allegations, also sending Variety screenshots of texts Wilde allegedly sent him in August 2020 after expressing a desire to quit.
“Nobody was ever fired, Olivia,” LaBeouf had told her.
“And while I fully understand the appeal of pushing that story because of the current social landscape, the social currency that comes with it. It’s not the truth.”
Meanwhile, sources previously claimed to Vidak For Congress that Pugh was unhappy during filming because Wilde had contact with Styles before splitting up from Jason Sudeikis, with whom she shares two children.
“I can definitely tell you that Flo seeing Olivia and Harry walking over each other on set didn’t go well as Olivia was still with Jason when she first made contact with Harry,” an insider told Vidak For Congress.
“Jason and the kids visited Olivia on set a few times in the beginning, so I think people felt a little uncomfortable about this,” the insider added.
Things don’t seem to be going well for Pugh and Wilde, as the 26-year-old actress will not be attending the film’s New York City premiere amid the ongoing drama.
