Celebrating a “heavenly birthday”.
NeNe Leakes wrote an emotional tribute to her late husband Gregg Leakes on what would have been his 67th birthday.
“Missing the man who always had a plan!” the 55-year-old wrote on Instagram on Tuesday alongside a photo of NeNe embracing her late husband from behind.
She continued: “Today is a tuff [sic] one … every year on this date we would celebrate you! I can’t believe we’re wishing you a heavenly birthday today. I feel like you’ve been somewhere and you’re coming back.”
The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum closed the post with the words, “I miss you every day Gregg! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH.”
The real estate investor died of colon cancer in September 2021, just three months after the reality star announced his cancer had returned.
The businessman was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer for the first time in 2018. Gregg underwent six months of chemotherapy to have the disease come back in June 2021.
“After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by all his children, very close loved ones and wife NeNe Leakes,” the family said at the time of his death.
Since his death, the reality star has continued with couture costume king Nyonisela Sioh. According to the former Bravo star, she even received the seal of approval from her late husband.
“I will love Gregg forever and ever! Grieving is hard! Even harder and depressing alone,” the “RHOA” alum told The Shade Room in December. “Gregg and I had a very tearful conversation before his passing. His words to me were ‘be happy, keep smiling and whoever finds you has found a good one.’”
While it’s unclear how long the “Glee” alum and Sioh have been together, they were first photographed as a couple just three months after Gregg’s passing.
Although she is already grieving the loss of her husband, NeNe’s new relationship has brought her quite a bit of stress.
In June, Sioh’s estranged wife sued the reality star over claims the couple had an affair while he was still married.
Malomine Tehmeh-Sioh is suing the reality star for $100,000 for “disposal of affection” and “criminal conversations”.
NeNe has denied being a ‘husband-stealer’, saying she has been ‘swept up’ in her boyfriends’ troubles.
