Kyle Richards defends laughing at Erika cursing Garcelle’s son

Kyle Richards felt she had some explaining to do after outraged fans scolded her for laughing at Erika Jayne swearing at Garcelle Beauvais’ teenage son.

“I laughed at a friend’s drunken, ridiculous behavior. NOT about disrespecting someone’s child,” Richards, 53, insisted in an Instagram comment Monday after two preview clips of the upcoming episode of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” went viral.

“I think you know me better than that by now,” she added. “I wasn’t even there to see this and only heard about Erika and what she had said afterward.”

During the scene in question, Richards, Dorit Kemsley and their respective husbands, Mauricio Umanksy and Paul “PK” Kemsley, discussed Jayne’s drunken behavior at Beauvais’s birthday party, including introducing the 31-year-old co-host of the former “The Real.” old son, Oliver, for a threesome and then tell Jax, 14, to “get the f–k out of here.”

“Guys, did you miss how Erika told Garcelle’s son, the 14-year-old, to leave?” Richards said to the group, laughing. “I mean, it’s not funny, but it’s funny.”

“I was there,” interrupted Dorit, 45, with a smile before Umansky, 52, added with a hearty chuckle, “I love that she did that.”

Richards said she liked seeing “this more relaxed side” of Jayne, 50, which Dorit “100 percent” agreed with.

“I feel like I can give a big pass because of that,” added Dorit, noting, “Of course it’s not my kid.

“So she had a drink. She doesn’t get like that – I don’t think I ever remember a time when she was so loose and free.”

Richards went on to say that Jayne seemed “nicer” before reflecting on the early years of their friendship in a confession: “I used to think, ‘I wish she would open up more. I wish she would loosen up a bit.’

“When I see this side of her that’s more open and honest, even if she doesn’t always show her best side, at least it’s genuine.”

Even the most die-hard Richards fans promptly flooded social media to express their disappointment. One Instagram user assumed the dinner was “a TOTAL makeup session for the couple’s scene from last season when they fooled Erika.”

Either way, it’s safe to say Beauvais, 55, is furious.

“@GarcelleB did you know Kyle, Mauricio, Dorit & PK had this conversation and laughed at the horrible way Erika spoke to your kid or did you learn this while watching the episode?” a Twitter user asked along with the clip from the dinner.

“No, I’ve never seen this scene until now 😡,” Beauvais replied: before praising all three of her sons for showing “respect for people even when they don’t deserve it.” (She is also mother to Jax’ twin brother, Jaid.)

Jayne’s comments, as well as Richards’ response to them, will air on Bravo Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
