No pandemic babies here.
Kelly Ripa believed she and Mark Consuelos – who share sons Michael, 25, and Joaquin, 19, plus daughter Lola, 21 – had conceived their fourth child together during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking to Haute Living about her upcoming book, “Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories,” the 51 daytime presenter told me, “I will definitely mention that time during the pandemic where I thought my husband got me pregnant.
“I started taking pregnancy tests daily, but then Mark said a little cautiously, ‘Could there be another reason why you’re not getting your period?’ and I said, ‘What other reason could there be?’ He really had to walk on eggshells here [by explaining to me that I was probably going through menopause].”
Ripa admitted she was relieved to “explain to my kids that they were about to meet their new sibling.”
A new sibling wouldn’t have come as much of a surprise, though, as Ripa and Consuelos, also 51, are consistently gushing about their sex lives.
The co-host of “Live with Kelly and Ryan” also revealed in her upcoming book, due out September 28, that she actually passed out while chatting with her husband of 26.
Ripa wrote that the incident happened in 1997, six months after the birth of her first child, while she and the “Riverdale” star were enjoying an early morning session.
She lost consciousness in the middle of it due to two large cysts growing on her ovaries.
Consuelos, clearly concerned, immediately rushed Ripa to the hospital—but not before dressing her with whatever he could get his hands on.
She later discovered that he had dressed her in an ’80s French-style leotard, red ‘f–k me’ stilettos from Manolo Blahnik and the old sweatpants from Consuelos.
“Here’s my husband who, dare I say, is always stylish and well-dressed, and yet he dressed me like a prostitute on a dime in my time of need,” she noted, mocking the situation .
“It baffles me to this day that this is the best daytime costume he could find for me, to the point where, as I lay on the stretcher, I thought I was dreaming; I had a nightmare,” she continued. “I didn’t know I’d come to.”
