Justin Sylvester tried to keep Jenna Bush Hager at bay on Wednesday’s episode of the “Today” show after she got a little too close to comfort.
During a cooking session, the 35-year-old “Daily Pop” star was receiving chicken making instructions when Bush Hager, 40, patted his back and put an arm around his shoulders.
As Sylvester leaned out of the way, Bush Hager didn’t flinch – so the “Beverly Hills Nannies” alum used one arm to push her away.
Bush Hager laughed at the diss, but stepped back just as close to him.
When the author of “Sisters First” continued to touch Sylvester’s back despite his arm still being held between them, he looked up, smiled and pushed her aside again.
Bush Hager stepped back and raised her eyebrows at the cameras.
NBC viewers took to Instagram to bash her behavior, with one calling Bush Hager’s actions “not cool at all” and advising her to “keep her hands to home from now on.”
“He literally defined his personal space and she forced herself into it,” wrote one social media user of the awkward interaction.
Another added: “He was obviously uncomfortable and kept trying to politely push her off.”
Sylvester, who has not yet commented on the segment, is a regular contributor to the “Today” show, often collaborating with Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb.
Later in Wednesday’s episode, he and Bush Hager also snapped his recent vacation photos in St. Tropez posted via Instagram.
“That thirst trap looks perfect,” the former first daughter — who has been married to Henry Chase Hager since 2008 — told Sylvester. “You look like you belong in St. Tropez.”
