Ben Affleck has received the stamp of approval from Jennifer Lopez’s mother, Guadalupe “Lupe” Rodríguez.
“I knew they would get back together. I knew they were in love,” Sunny Hostin said on the July 18 episode of “The View” about the rekindled couple’s wedding in Las Vegas.
“I talked to her mother, Lupe, about it. Lupe has always said that Ben is her true love.”
Hostin, 53, went on to tell her co-hosts she is convinced that the love between Lopez, 52, and Affleck, 49, “will last forever.”
“They’ll live happily ever after, which is why she took his last name and loves him,” she gushed.
“And that’s it. This is it for her. She should have married him the first time.”
Vidak For Congress obtained Lopez and Affleck’s marriage license, which was filed on July 16. The “Hustlers” actress later confirmed the marriage herself in the July 17 edition of her “On The JLo” newsletter.
Lopez also legally changed her name to “Jennifer Affleck” after the surprise marriage to the actor “Gone Girl”. She signed off as “Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck” in her newsletter sharing details about the wedding.
“We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out that love is patient. Twenty years of patience,” the ‘Marry Me’ star wrote in the letter to her fans.
“We were barely in the little white wedding chapel at midnight,” she continued. “They graciously stayed open a few minutes late. Let’s take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, apparently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted to show Elvis himself it cost extra and he was in bed).”
Lopez and Affleck met on the set of “Gigli” in 2001, while the “Dance Again” singer was still married to her second husband, Cris Judd. They got engaged a year later, but called it quits in 2004.
After they both married and had children of their own – with Marc Anthony and Jennifer Garner respectively – they sent fans into a frenzy when they reunited in April 2021. They got engaged for the second time in April 2022.
