Three major Chinese tech companies, Huawei, ZTE, and BOE, are collaborating to develop the greatest foldable OLED screen with an under-display camera, claims famed tipster DIgital Chat Station.
The Huawei Mate X4 smartphone, which will be foldable, could be the first device to possibly benefit from cutting-edge display technology.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold4 launched with the aforementioned screen technology, so the Mate X4 won’t be the first folding smartphone with one, but it was far from perfect. Although the selfie camera is well hidden, its quality is appallingly low. Huawei, ZTE, and BOE believe they have finally found a solution.
Due in large part to ZTE’s know-how and BOE’s history of making displays, the new so-called “Q8” OLED screen is said to finally address the camera quality difficulties.
After all, ZTE’s Axon series led the way in developing the under-display camera technology a few years ago and has made major advancements in recent generations. According to rumors, the new display would feature high-frequency 1,440Hz PWM dimming and have a resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels.
