‘Game of Thrones’ star Jack Gleeson marries Róisín O’Mahony

Not as dramatic as the Red Wedding.

Jack Gleeson, who played King Joffrey in ‘Game of Thrones’, married his girlfriend Róisín O’Mahony over the weekend in a small ceremony in Ireland.

The couple’s priest revealed the exciting news on Twitterwho called their marriage “very simple, prayerful and dignified.”

Father Patsy Lynch posted photos of the couple’s ceremony and showed the small church where they exchanged vows.

The newlyweds kept it casual with Gleeson wearing a green button-down and gray pants, and his bride opted for a colorful patterned sundress.

Fans of the hit HBO series were quick to congratulate the pair and comment on Gleeson’s seemingly stark contrast to the villain he played on the show.

“He looks very solid. Totally different from the character he played in GOT. Beautiful couple!” one user wrote, to which Lynch replied, calling the 30-year-old actor, “a very down to earth, simple and relaxed person.”

When another user commented on the “beautiful wedding” and photos, Lynch replied, “It was an amazing party. Everyone was so relaxed. I will cherish so many memories of this special day.”

Gleeson starred in the Emmy-winning series from 2011 to 2014 before his character was killed. After playing one of the most hated characters of all time, he decided to take a break from acting.

“I just didn’t enjoy it as much as I used to,” he told EW in 2014. “It’s not like I hate it, it’s just not what I want to do.”

After a six-year hiatus, he returned to television on the show “Out of Her Mind” and will star next year with Liam Neeson in “The Land of Saints and Sinners.”
