Angelina Jolie is one step closer to an empty nest.
The 47-year-old actress dropped her 17-year-old daughter Zahara at Spelman College on Thursday.
The “Maleficent” star wore an all-black outfit for moving day in photos posted via Instagram by Darryl Holloman, the school’s vice president of Student Affairs.
The teenager, for her part, combined a green top with jeans. She wore a black face mask as she posed for a photo in her new bedroom.
When asked how she felt about the milestone moment, Jolie admitted, “I’m going to cry if I talk about today. I haven’t started crying yet, so… hopefully I can hold it together.”
She added that she felt “so excited” to be the mother of a Spelman student.
The Oscar winner revealed her oldest daughter’s college plans earlier this month when the couple attended a Los Angeles event for the Atlanta-based school.
“Congratulations to all the new students starting this year,” Jolie wrote in an August 1 Instagram upload. “A very special place and an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl.”
The director’s ex-husband, Brad Pitt, talked about Zahara’s college plans later that week, saying he’s “proud” of his “smart” daughter.
“She will thrive even more in college,” the 58-year-old actor told Vanity Fair on Aug. 2. “It’s an exciting and beautiful time to find her own way and pursue her interests. I’m so proud. Where does the time go, right? They grow up too fast. It brings tears to my eyes.”
The former couple, who split in 2016 and were declared legally unmarried three years later, are also parents to Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Shiloh, 16, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 14.
In August 2019, Maddox left for South Korea to attend Yonsei College. Similarly, Jolie was the only parent present at his drop-off.
“I’m trying not to cry,” the “Salt” star said at the time.
