Apparently Zoey Deutch’s mom and dad didn’t teach her not to get in the car with strangers.
The actress, whose parents are “Back to the Future” star Lea Thompson and “Pretty in Pink” director Howard Deutch, was stranded at an airport and hitchhiked a 250-mile ride to get to a posh event.
A source tells Vidak For Congress exclusively that Zoey traveled from Italy this weekend to attend a Saxon event in Aspen. But when she got stuck at the airport in Denver due to a travel problem, she didn’t call Uber or her assistant — she just jumped into a car with a rando heading her way.
“Zoey hitchhiked with a strange Hermès to be on time,” said the source.
“She was supposed to fly from Denver to Aspen, but her flight was cancelled. She was at the end of a very long day of travel, so she decided going for a ride with a stylish stranger would probably be the fastest and best option.
But another source tells us that the Good Samaritan may not have been so fanatical: “Not sure about that descriptor, but it was a stranger.”
Flying into Aspen airport can be tricky as it is small and the weather is rough. In February, Vidak For Congress reported that the one percent of the city was crying, “panicing” and “groaning over their private jets”. [were] …delayed” after a plane crash shut down Aspen airport and forced them to take an expensive cab ride to Denver.
Pilot Hachi Ko recently told BuzzFeed: “Everything is frustrating. The approach requires you to get out of the way, and if you miss the approach, it takes some time to reposition yourself for another attempt.
Other guests for the fashion festivities, however, seemed imperturbable to enter the chic ski town.
“Saturday Night Live” star Chloe Fineman and socialites Lili Buffett, Tina Craig, Casey Fremont, Debbie Bancroft, Betsy Pitts and Jamie Tisch also attended the weekend with a stay at Aspen hotel de Little Nell and gift bags full of high-end brands La Perla and La Prairie, whose skincare creams can go for more than $1,000.
It pays to be rich and famous.
Saks CEO Marc Metrick drank and dined with guests, including polo star Nacho Figueras and wife Delfina Blaquier at members-only hotspot Casa Tua and Caribou Club, where we hear they were greeted with caviar at the door.
While the affluent guests were given the option of hiking, biking or horseback riding, we are told most spend their time relaxing in the spa.
