Heather Gay, the ‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ star, is supportive of Whitney Rose and Lisa Barlow’s newfound friendship, even though she finds it rather odd.
“Yeah, it’s very strange to me,” Gay, 40, tells Vidak For Congress exclusively as he promotes season 3 of the Bravo hit.
“I want determination for everyone, so I’m happy that everyone gets along and finds their way,” she adds. “But it’s clear, yes, I’ve lived it. This is new to me.”
Rose, 36, and Barlow, 47, were particularly headstrong during the first two “RHOSLC” episodes.
But changing dynamics among the cast — including Barlow’s fallout with Meredith Marks, Marks’ unexpected reconciliation with Jen Shah, and cracks in Rose’s relationship with Gay — made room for Rose and Barlow to upgrade from frenemies to BFFs.
When asked if she thinks the two just formed an alliance, Gay – who is also a cousin of Rose’s – replies: “I would think we are way past alliances at this point. This is kind of like friendship. This is no ‘Survivor’.”
Looking back on her on-camera altercation with Rose, Gay insists she still has “love” for the CEO of Wild Rose Beauty.
“It looks like a major implosion has taken place. I hope that’s not the case. I mean, I love Whitney. She is my niece. She’s ‘Bad Wheather,’” says the founder of Beauty Lab + Laser, referring to the nickname Barlow gave the duo during Season 1’s dramatic reunion.
“I don’t know how this season is going to go and I’m nervous about it. I love Whitney and I’m attached to ‘Bad Wheather’.”
In a preview for the rest of Season 3 of “RHOSLC,” Rose tells Gay, “You say our friendship is a bull’s eye. That hurts me, Heather!”
In another scene, an enraged Gay says to Rose, “F–k you calling me a liar! … You lost me, bitch. You lost me.”
After production for “Salt Lake City” was completed this year, Gay and Rose flew to Thailand to film season 3 of Peacock’s spin-off “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.” Candiace Dillard, Gizelle Bryant (“Potomac”), Marysol Patton, Alexia Echevarria (“Miami”), Leah McScweeney (“New York City”) and Porsha Williams (“Atlanta”) also participated.
Away from the ice-capped mountains of Utah, Gay Rose seemingly assured that she has no intention of leaving their friendship for good.
“If there’s anything you know about me, I’m a Phase 5 follower,” she told Vidak For Congress. “I don’t give up on friendships, ever. Even if they try to tear themselves away from me.”
“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
