Tom Cruise, who previously lived out of a luxury hotel room in London, is looking for a more permanent home.
We’re told that the ‘Mission Impossible’ actor is looking for a place in the upscale Kensington neighborhood, near the royal Kensington Palace.
“He’s shopping in the $10 million range,” says our source. “This will be a new place and more like a primary residence.”
Virgin mogul Richard Branson, fashion designer Stella McCartney, Robbie Williams and “Mr. Bean” star Rowan Atkinson have all reportedly lived in the upscale neighborhood.
The area is also home to the chic street of Kensington Palace Gardens, which is called “Billionaires Row”. The gated community offers strict security and is home to billionaires Roman Abramovich and Len Blavatnik, plus steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal.
However, the homes there appear to be out of budget for what Cruise is looking for, with an average value of $35 million.
Buzz about Cruise being enamored with London is not a minority report. A source previously told In Touch Weekly that the ‘Rain Man’ star had fallen in love with the city.
“Tom loves the rainy weather, the people, long walks in the city,” the insider said. “He’s never had a place to call home, not really, but he’s finally found it in London.”
This summer, the ‘Top Gun’ star attended the Queen’s Platinum Anniversary, British Grand Prix and Wimbledon, where he looked delighted to see Kate Middleton.
He has often been spotted dining out, most recently with Salma Hayek and her billionaire husband, François-Henri Pinault.
A source told The Daily Mail this month that Cruise “has fallen in love with everything about the UK. His daughter lives here, he enjoys a good ‘cuppa’ and he loves being himself. Most importantly, he has built up a good circle of friends. He’s the happiest I’ve ever seen him.”
Cruise’s daughter with Nicole Kidman, Isabella, lives in nearby Croydon.
While filming “Mission Impossible” in 2020, Cruise reportedly lived in a $455,000-a-month penthouse at the Corinthia Residences, previously owned by none other than The Queen.
During the lockdown, he is said to have stayed at the British Scientology headquarters near Sussex.
He also reportedly has a spot in a gated community in tiny Biggin Hill. He previously owned a house in East Grinstead, but sold it in 2016.
