Tom Brady finds it hard to accept that things are over.
After reports that his estranged wife, Gisele Bündchen, has been in talks with a divorce attorney for weeks, a source close to the NFL player said: “It’s pretty clear he’s in pain.”
“He feels very hurt by her,” the source told People in a story published Thursday.
While Brady seems to have hopes for reconciliation, the supermodel seems ready for a clean slate.
On Thursday, Bündchen, 45, was seen spiritually cleansing her car, which is done to get rid of all negative energy, with the help of a holistic woman.
While the former Victoria’s Secret Angel was photographed using a wiping stick to burn sage around her car, she was noticeably missing her wedding ring.
The therapeutic experience came just days after Vidak For Congress revealed that both Bündchen and Brady, who have been married for 13 years, had each hired their own divorce attorney.
“I don’t think anything will come back now. They both have a lawyer and are looking at what a split entails, who gets what and what the finances will be,” said a source.
The pair have been on the rocks for a few months after an “epic battle” over Brady’s decision to “step out” from the NFL.
While some sources claim it’s “sexist” to trace their issues back to Brady’s career, other insiders tell us that “as with many marriages, it’s not just one thing. Gisele made it clear that she was concerned about Tom’s football and that they had talked a lot about it.”
The supermodel has even expressed her “concern” about Brady staying in the competition amid their wedding drama.
“This is a very violent sport, and I have my kids and I’d like him to be more present,” she told Elle magazine last month, adding that she’s “definitely had those conversations with him over and over.”
The couple — who share son Benjamin (12), daughter Vivian (9) and son Jack (3) from one of Brady’s previous relationships — lived apart as the quarterback enters his 23rd season.
Although Brady was “hopeful” that his wife would come by, the model has not attended any of his competitions.
