There are problems in the paradise of Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen, multiple sources told Vidak For Congress.
The model has left their family complex in Tampa, Florida, for Costa Rica after a series of heated discussions over Brady’s shocking decision to retire from the NFL while he stayed behind for team training.
“Tom and Gisele are arguing at the moment,” a source told Vidak For Congress, adding that this has happened to the couple before, but they have always reunited in the past.
The news comes after the 45-year-old Buccaneers quarterback missed 11 days of training in August. When questioned about his disappearance, the sports star said: “It’s all personal…everyone has different situations they deal with. We all have truly unique challenges in our lives. I’m 45 years old, man. There’s a lot of s–t going on.”
A representative of both Brady and Bündchen, 42 – who share children, Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 9, plus Jack, the athlete’s 14-year-old son with ex Bridget Moynhan – declined to comment.
A second source said: ‘There have been problems in the marriage because of his decision not to retire. Gisele has always been the one with the kids.
“They had agreed that he would retire to focus on the family, but then he changed his mind.”
An insider added: “They have a fiery relationship. Gisele is a bit hot-headed – she has that Brazilian heat!”
In May, Bündchen told British Vogue: “I don’t think relationships just happen; it is never the fairy tale that people want to believe. It takes work to be really in sync with someone, especially after you have kids,” she said, adding: “His focus is on his career, mine is mostly on the kids.”
On his Instagram account, Brady posted a video on Monday in which he took Benjamin and Vivian to their first day of school.
While Brady soon retired after promising to spend more time with Bündchen and the kids, she’s also back to work and is currently starring in a new Burberry campaign.
“It’s almost as if Gisele said, ‘Well, if you keep playing, I will too,’ said the second source. “She’s angry that Tom is still the superstar of football.”
According to sources, Brady looked dejected at the training camp.
In 2020, during an appearance on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show, Brady admitted: “A few years ago, [Bündchen] didn’t feel like I was doing my part for the family.
“She had the feeling that I would play football all season and that she would take care of the house,” he added. “She wasn’t happy with our marriage. So I had to change that. Her point was, ‘Yeah, of course this works for you. It all works for you. But it doesn’t work for me.’”
And more recently, Brady had admitted he needs to be “better” at balancing his NFL career and spending time with his family.
“[During] off season my family has a lot of time. I enjoyed that,” he said. “I can do that even better. It’s just constantly trying to get a little better every day.”
Addressing his six-week retirement earlier this year, he added that every decision comes “at a price”.
