They do!
Jill Martin, contributor of the “Today” show, married fiancé Erik Brooks Saturday night at the New York Public Library, Vidak For Congress can exclusively reveal.
The ‘Steals & Deals’ presenter married in front of 200 of her closest family and friends, including some of her colleagues from the ‘Today’ show. Sources tell us that her father conducted the ceremony after walking her down the aisle with her mother.
A representative for Martin did not immediately respond to Vidak For Congress’s request for comment.
Martin, 46, and her financier husband, have come a long way to the altar. The couple first got engaged in the Hamptons in May 2019, and the TV personality told us she was “over the moon” at the exciting development in her personal life.
“I’m shaking,” she told Vidak For Congress exclusively at the time. “I’m over the moon. I haven’t stopped staring at [my engagement ring]. I wake up in the middle of the night and think, ‘Was that a dream?’”
Unfortunately, the couple struggled through the pandemic and called off their engagement about a year later.
“This pandemic has taken a toll on so many aspects of life – it’s such a tough time for everyone,” explains Martin, who met Brooks through a dating app. “Erik is the most wonderful person, but now that he lives in Boston with his kids and I in New York, the distance just became too difficult for us to maintain the kind of relationship that is important to both of us.
“He’s a great man and I wish him nothing but the best.”
But life found a way for the couple to reunite, and Martin and Brooks got engaged again on Harbor Island in the Bahamas in November 2021. She revealed she was the one who called Brooks, 56, back after 18 months apart.
“When I called Erik on that random Thursday a few months ago, he was shocked to hear from me,” she recalls. “He took the time to process that first conversation and then we started to get to know each other again. We wanted to make sure it would be different this time. Better.”
Martin added that she likes the way Brooks loves her, as well as “how I feel about myself when I’m with him.”
