“Ketchup or makeup?”
Rihanna wants fans to play a guessing game with her latest launch of Fenty Beauty.
The 34-year-old makeup mogul is collaborating with art collective MSCHF on a limited-edition palette ($25) filled with “six packs, each containing ketchup or lip gloss.”
Fans were divided about the new drop and took to the comment section of Fenty Beauty’s announcement post on Instagram to ring out.
“I’m sorry, but who wants to spend $25 to eventually get ketchup packets,” one wrote, while another joked, “Is Rihanna still on maternity leave… who signed?”
A third asked, “Are the packets resealable if it’s glossy? I have so many questions.”
And few seemed happy to get more makeup (and/or spice) for Rihanna’s highly anticipated ninth album, with one fan quipped, “Literally anything but music.”
Others responded more complimentary, calling the collaboration “so cool,” “strained fire,” and “cute.”
MSCHF previously collaborated with Lil Nas X on his controversial “Satan Shoes” made with “one drop of human blood,” leading to a Nike lawsuit in 2021, among other irreverent projects.
As one fan mentioned, Rihanna has been busy raising her newborn son, whom she welcomed in May with rapper A$AP Rocky.
The “Umbrella” singer consistently wowed fans with her maternity style, stepping out in ensembles that ranged from colorful Chanel vintage to completely sheer Dior — and her postpartum looks were no exception.
Most recently, the A-lister rocked a black satin cone bra and matching lace-up leggings for a night out at celebrity-loved eatery Carbone — where she probably ate something far fancier than French fries.
