If Ray J had “One Wish”, haters would pass up his new tattoo.
Earlier this month, the rapper inked an elaborate portrait of his sister, Brandy, on his leg; “I had to start with my best friend!!” he explained on Instagram.
Some of Ray J’s followers weren’t exactly fans of the piece, with one calling it “cringy,” another describing it as “demonic,” and a third simply saying, “Get your st together.”
However, while chatting with TMZ on Thursday, the star had a message to share with the haters.
“It’s my leg, it’s my sister,” Ray J said, before admitting that the “Boy Is Mine” singer herself was “a little uncomfortable” about the tat tribute in the beginning.
As for the design’s “bloody eyes” – which caused one commenter to joke, “Why does she look tall???” — Ray J urged people to check out artist Alexey Mashkov’s Instagram.
“That’s his style. I can’t tell an artist not to sign it,” he said.
“I love my sister and that was just a symbol of the fact that I thanked you for putting me in. If she hadn’t been there, I wouldn’t be here. I feel humbled that she is only helping me.”
Although Brandy initially “didn’t like the tattoo either,” he added, it’s now “growing” on her.
The piece shows the R&B crooner with the words “Best Friends” on her forehead and “4 Ever” on her cheeks.
According to his Instagram post in which the design debuts, Ray J plans to have his entire leg tattooed with “music,” “love,” “writings,” “the vocal bible,” “family,” “ghosts,” ” positive words’. ” and more.
In 2021, Ray J similarly showed his sibling some love by tattooing Brandy’s name on his arm, using the font featured on her 1994 self-titled debut album.
Brandy appreciated the gesture, gushing at the moment, “This is real love. I couldn’t have wished for a better brother.”
