Prince Harry wants people to ‘stop talking’ about William feud

Prince Harry wants the public to “stop talking” about his feud with Prince William as they mourn the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

“People should just stop talking about all these things and focus on my grandmother,” the Duke of Sussex, 38, told a friend last week, according to The Times of London.

The newspaper also quoted a source as saying that the newly appointed Prince of Wales, 40, agrees and is “only focused on doing the right thing to honor the Queen.”

The insider added that while William “processed his grief and the death of his grandmother, rather than dealing with his relationship with Harry,” the estranged brothers are still “trying their best” to get along.

Media coverage of the family’s disagreement would “weigh heavily” [William] a lot,” the source said, adding, “He doesn’t want that.”

The duo have formed a united front since the 96-year-old monarch died on September 8.

Not only did William, Harry and their respective wives, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, take a joint royal walk to greet mourners, but the siblings also walked behind the Queen’s coffin as the latter left Buckingham Palace last week.

Their side-by-side formation was reminiscent of their late mother Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997, William told an onlooker last week.

He explained that walking in the procession was “very difficult” and “bringing back memories”.

At the Queen’s funeral on Monday, William and Harry drove to Westminster Hall in separate cars, but both walked with Father King Charles III behind their grandmother’s coffin to Westminster Abbey.

Middleton, 40, and Markle, 41, joined them in, along with the eldest two children of the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince George, 9 and Princess Charlotte, 7. (Prince Louis, 4, did not attend the service because of his age.)

William and Harry’s feud has made headlines for several years, but intensified when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex renounced their royal roles in January 2020.

The couple, who share son Archie, 3, and daughter Lilibet, 1, made their departure permanent in February 2021 – and spilled tea on the royal family in a great interview with Oprah Winfrey the following month.

“I love William dearly,” Harry said at the time. “We’ve been through hell together and we have a shared experience, but we’re on different paths.”
