Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hold hands in new photos

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were photographed holding hands during their trip to the UK just before Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

Photographer Misan Harriman shared a photo he took of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex standing close together as they interlock their fingers.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moments before attending @OneYoungWorld’s opening ceremony last month,” Harriman captioned the Instagram photo on Monday.

Harry, 38, was dressed to impress in a black suit and tie, while Markle, 41, looked chic in red trousers and a matching red blouse.

While the “Suits” alum seemed to have a very serious look on her face, Harry gave the camera a small, soft smile.

The photographer also posted a black and white photo of Harry and Markle at the event where they were once again seen holding hands backstage.

The Sussexes attended the summit, which took place on September 5 in Manchester, England.

There Markle gave a speech and told audience members: “We often hear people say, ‘It’s time now,’ but I’m going to come back to that by saying your time is now.

She added: “The important work can’t wait for tomorrow, and this week the world is watching as you cement your place in history by demonstrating the good you are doing today.”

After their appearance at the summit, the pair flew to Germany to attend the Invictus Games event “Dusseldorf 2023 – One Year to Go”.

But their journey was cut short when Buckingham Palace announced on September 8 that the Queen’s health was declining and Harry rushed to Scotland to be with his grandmother.

She died hours later and unfortunately Harry wasn’t in time to say goodbye. And sources reportedly claim that Harry learned of the late monarch’s death online.

Harry and Markle, along with Prince William, Kate Middleton, King Charles III and the rest of the royal family, mourned the Queen despite tensions since they resigned from their royal duties in 2020.

Markle and Harry attended the Queen’s funeral, where the former actress saw a tear shed and the couple sat in the second row.

Markle also reportedly contacted Charles to make amends, but seemingly to no avail and quickly returned to California, where they live with their two children: Archie, 3, and 1-year-old Lilibet.

The Queen died of old age at the age of 96.
