Pete Davidson has been in “trauma therapy” largely as a result of Kanye West’s social media attacks, several sources confirmed to Vidak For Congress.
As of April, the 28-year-old The King of Staten Island star has sought help after his feud with the rapper over dating his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.
“The attention and negativity of Kanye and his antics is a trigger for” [Pete]and he had to get help,” an insider told People, who first reported the story Monday.
The source emphasized that despite the fact that he called it quits last week, Davidson “has no regrets about dating Kim and wants it to be made very clear that she has only supported him throughout their relationship.”
Representatives from Davidson and West did not respond for comment.
On Friday, an insider confirmed to Vidak For Congress that Davidson and Kardashian, 41, had broken up after nine months of dating.
“Kim and Pete have decided to just remain friends,” the source said. “They have a lot of love and respect for each other, but found that the long distance and their demanding schedules made it really difficult to maintain a relationship.”
Another source also told us that their age difference contributed to the decision.
The “Golddigger” rapper, 45, has continuously criticized the “SNL” alum – which he dubbed Skete – since he was first linked with Kardashian in October 2021.
Earlier this year, West released a video for “Eazy” in which he literally kidnapped and buried a cartoon version of Davidson. He also rapped about “smacking Pete Davidson’s ass.”
West also attacked Davidson in a second video for the same tune, this time wearing a “Skete” hoodie.
In March, the two men had a heated text exchange.
“Hey, it’s Skete. Could you please take a moment and calm down. It’s 8 a.m. and it doesn’t have to be,” the comedian texted to West, according to screenshots shared by “SNL” guest writer Dave Sirus.
“Kim is literally the best mom I’ve ever met. What she’s doing for those kids is amazing and you’re so lucky to be the mother of your kids,” he continued. “I’ve decided I’m not going to let you treat us like this anymore and I’m done being quiet. Let the f–k grow up.”
Davidson went on to ask West if they wanted to meet and talk.
“I’m in LA for a day if you want to stop being a little internet bitch boy and talk,” he wrote.
‘You don’t scare me, brother. Your actions are so py and embarrassing. It’s so sad to see you ruin your legacy every day.”
Despite Davidson’s efforts, the Yeezy designer didn’t hold back his attacks.
On Monday, West shared a manipulated New York Times front page on Instagram that read, “SKETE DAVIDSON DEAD AT AGE 28.”
Hours later, he took it down after it was revealed that Kardashian was “furious” about the post.
“Kim is furious and incredibly upset… Kanye is back to his old ways and Kim will not tolerate his bullying towards the people she loves and cares about,” a source close to the Skims founder told Vidak For Congress.
A second source explained that the reality star “will always protect Pete” regardless of their dating status.
Kardashian and West officially divorced in June 2022 after a judge called the makeup mogul legally single. The two have been married since 2014 and have four children together.
