Paris Hilton defended her mother, Kathy Hilton, after fans of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” called out the cast, including her aunt Kyle Richards, for “mocking” Kathy for promoting a tequila brand.
“So unkind🥺,” Paris, 41, tweeted Thursday when a fan said it was “sad to see” Richards, 53, “mocking” when Kathy, 63, tried to show Casa Del Sol on a group tour to Aspen, Colo. on Wednesday’s episode.
The “Simple Life” alum got support from former “RHOBH” star Denise Richards, who tweeted“I felt sorry for her, you could tell her feelings were really hurt and the preview with Rinna trying her best to dig.”
Kathy initially gathered the ladies after dinner when she tried to encourage them to “bottom” the tequila in which she, daughter Nicky Hilton and son-in-law James Rothschild, invested.
“I’d like you to try it,” said the fan favorite before Richards interrupted her with a buzzing noise and continued talking to Lisa Rinna and Erika Jayne instead of helping her half-sister.
To fuel the fire, many of the women had either eaten cannabis products or drank alcohol during dinner.
Rinna, 59, joked to the ladies that “Kathy was talking,” but after Kathy suggested the ladies do a shot, she and Jayne, 51, immediately shut her down.
The “Paris in Love” star also “found” several tweets from fans who thought the situation was “bad”.
“@ParisHilton has her own 20+ year career spanning shows, movies, music and a public persona. @KathyHilton also has more connections with famous people than Kyle could have ever dreamed of. Kyle fought for relevance through a show. Kathy & Paris already had it #RHOBH,” read a “liked” tweet.
Several other fans pointed out how unfair it was that Rinna was given an entire tasting to promote Rinna Wines, and Richards’ husband Mauricio Umansky’s real estate company The Agency is frequently mentioned, including for finding the cast’s rental home in Aspen.
Kathy wants to promote her family’s tequila and they’re all firing her. They’re all using the show for promo so it’s rich to think she shouldn’t,” someone else wrote in a “liked” tweet.
“I can’t believe Kathy was laughed at and mocked for introducing a tequila line. This cast is evil and ugly #RHOBH,” read another “liked” tweet.
It looks like “tequila-gate” only escalates on next week’s episode when Rinna asks for a shot of her “boyfriend” Kendall Jenner, 818’s tequila brand, in front of Kathy. – who told her just before that the bar had Casa Del Sol.
“Oh, I want to try Kendall Jenner’s 818,” Kathy said in a high-pitched voice, mocking Rinna before switching back to a stern voice. “Here in front of me, and Kyle doesn’t do king stuff. I’m f–king pissed off.”
