“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kathy Hilton’s youngest daughter, Nicky Hilton, cast some shadow on her mother’s co-stars over an incident dubbed “tequila gate”.
Nicky’s Aunt Kyle Richards was one of the reality stars who mocked Kathy for promoting her tequila brand Casa Del Sol on a recent episode of the Bravo show.
“I think all women will continue to promote their products,” Nicky, 38, told Vidak For Congress on Tuesday at the God’s Love We Deliver ice cream gathering in New York City.
“I don’t see why she should be an exception.”
Kathy, 63, initially gathered the women after a group dinner and encouraged them to “bottom” the tequila she had invested in along with Nicky and James Rothschild.
“I’d like you to try it,” Kathy said, before sister Kyle, 53, interrupted with a buzzing noise and continued her conversation with Lisa Rinna and Erika Jayne.
Fuel was added to the fire when Rinna, 59, asked for a shot of her “friend” Kendall Jenner’s tequila, 818, in front of Kathy, who told her the bar was filled with Casa Del Sol.
“Can I try a little shot of that 818 Tequila? I want to see what that tastes like,” Rinna said during the cast’s recent trip to Aspen.
“I just want to try it because it’s my friend Kendall Jenner’s tequila. I just haven’t tried it,” she added.
The former soap star later said in a confessional: “Of course they have Kathy’s tequila and I secretly suspect Kathy did it there herself. Kathy made sure the tequila was there and good for her.’
The socialite then slammed her co-star for her “f–king disgusting” behavior and told the group she was leaving.
“[Rinna says that] Here in front of me and Kyle doesn’t do anything to the king,” she continued, referring to her half-sister.
“Come on, she’s not saying anything and I’m pissed off.”
Kathy’s oldest daughter, 41-year-old Paris Hilton, also weighed in when she took to Twitter and labeled her aunt’s actions “so unkind.”
Others were quick to point out that Rinna received a special tasting of her brand, Rinna Wines, on “RHOBH.” In addition, her husband, Mauricio Umansky, regularly gets to see his real estate company The Agency in the reality show.
Nicky, a newly appointed board member of the charity God’s Love We Deliver, said she had no idea about her mother’s future reality TV plans.
“I have no idea,” said the mother of three, when asked if Kathy would return for another season of “RHOBH.”
“We haven’t really talked about it yet.”
