Actress Nia Long has broken her silence about the alleged affair of her fiancé Ime Udoka.
The Boston Celtics announced on Thursday that Udoka would be suspended from his role as head coach of the NBA team for “violations of team policy,” allegedly including an alleged romance with a staff woman.
Through her rep, Long told Vidak For Congress on Friday that while “recent events” have been “difficult” for her to “process,” she is turning to her loved ones for strength.
“The outpouring of love and support from family, friends and the community at this difficult time means so much to me,” the statement said.

Shortly before the Celtics announced Udoka’s suspension from the entire 2022-23 season — and indicated that “a decision about his future” with the basketball team would be made “after this season” “at a later date” — sources told ESPN he had engaged in an “intimate relationship with a female member of the franchise’s staff.”

As for Udoka, he issued a statement on the matter late Thursday through sports reporter Malika Andrews, but did not speak out about the alleged affair.
