“Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum NeNe Leakes took to Twitter to call out “abusers” who “want power over their victims” amid her ongoing racism lawsuit with Bravo.
On Sunday, the reality TV star – who claims she was “blacklisted” and “silenced” for speaking out against the network – retweeted multiple support messages from fans.
“Everyone can see what they’ve done to me! Nobody is stupid!” Leaking, 54, tweeted in response to enthusiasts.
She also claimed“This treatment has been going on for years!”
“Remember, abusers want power over their victims!” she added in a third tweetwithout specifying who the “abusers” were.
‘They want to break you! Most abuse takes place behind closed doors (hint: that’s why you don’t know or see everything) On the surface it still looks fine.”
They also claimed in a separate tweet that many were “behind the scenes” “accomplices” and further called for “to be exposed”.
Bravo did not immediately respond to our request for comment.
Leakes – one of the original cast members of “RHOA” – further suggested upon the release of a book she “wrote over the past year,” she called it a “must read.”
In April, the lounge owner sued Bravo, claiming they fostered and tolerated a hostile and racist work environment.
“NBC, Bravo and True promote a corporate and workplace culture where racially insensitive and inappropriate behavior is tolerated — if not, encouraged,” the suit says.
The lawsuit — currently under negotiation — says Leakes has complained to executives about years of racist remarks from fellow “housewife” Kim Zolciak-Biermann, but only Leakes has suffered repercussions.
It names as defendants NBCUniversal, Bravo, production companies True Entertainment and Truly Original, executives of the companies, and Cohen, the executive producer of “Housewives,” but not Zolciak-Biermann.
A month later, Leakes claimed she sued the respective parties two years after she left “RHOA” because it “felt like it was the right time… a few years ago.”
“But I was constantly retaliated, blacklisted, unable to work, silenced, and so, you know, it was hard to do,” she claimed at the time, but never went into detail. about how she was reportedly “blacklisted.”
Leakes said she realized she was blacklisted when she “suddenly” found herself “not working” after years of being “wanted”.
Leakes was on the show from seasons 1 through 7 and then seasons 10 through 12 before dropping out.
