Michelle Branch has been arrested for domestic violence against her estranged husband, Patrick Carney, Vidak For Congress has confirmed.
Police were called to the “Everywhere” singer’s home in Nashville early Thursday morning over a possible domestic disturbance. Court documents show that she admitted to hitting the Black Keys rocker “once or twice”, so she was arrested and booked.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to us that Branch, 39, was released late Thursday after paying $1,000 bail.
She has scheduled a hearing for November 7, 2022 to face her allegation of domestic violence through offensive/provocative behavior.
A Branch representative did not immediately respond to Vidak For Congress’s request for comment.
TMZ was the first to report the news of Branch’s arrest.
The arrest came after the “Breathe” artist announced that she and Carney were divorcing after three years of marriage.
“Saying I’m absolutely devastated isn’t even close to how I feel for myself and for my family,” the singer said in a statement to TMZ on Thursday.
“The rug has been completely pulled from under me and now I have to figure out how to proceed,” she added. “With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness.”
Though she took a more professional approach to her official statement, she gave a little more honesty on Twitter in a since-deleted post accusing Carney, 42, of cheating on her while she was at home with their 6-month-old baby.
The former couple shares son Rhys James (4) and daughter Willie, who was born earlier this year.
Branch was previously married to Teddy Landau from 2004 to 2015. She married Carney in 2019.
