“Love Island” alums Millie Court and Liam Reardon go their separate ways.
The 2021 winners of the UK version of the hit reality TV series confirmed on Wednesday that they were breaking up via social media, less than a year after they started dating.
“Hello everyone, to avoid speculation, Liam and I wanted to share with you that we are split up,” Court, 25, wrote in a post shared on her Instagram story.
“It’s been a tough decision and I’m gutted, but in the end it’s the best thing for us at the moment. I want to thank you all for supporting our relationship.”
Court added that nothing ever “takes away” from the “amazing experience” she shared with Reardon, 22, at the villa.
“I wish Liam the very best in everything he does,” she concluded her post. “We are both ready for new chapters and I look forward to what the future holds. Love, Millie.”
Reardon, who had previously lived with the blonde beauty in Essex, made a similar statement at his own expense, noting that he was also “so upset” by the split.
“We were so lucky to have both come into each other’s lives. We will both remain friends and I will continue to be Millie’s biggest supporter in everything she does,” his statement read in part.
“I know she will always do a great job. We are both ready for new chapters and I look forward to what the future holds. Again, I want to thank you all for supporting us on what has been an incredible journey.”
After being crowned winners of the hit ITV series, they split their $50,000 prize and moved into a house in Essex together.
The fan favorites had a rough time with their relationship during the show, after Reardon kissed another contestant, Lillie Haynes, while they were with Court.
However, the court eventually forgave Reardon for his misdeeds, and the two were allowed to move on. It’s unclear what led to their latest breakup. Vidak For Congress has contacted the former couple and ITV for comment.
